USA wins its second match of Tuesday
TIJUANA, Mexico, July 6, 2010 – USA Team won its second match of
Tuesday in Pool C of the NORCECA Women’s Junior Continental
Championship this time dispatching Guadeloupe in straight sets
(25-8, 25-7, 25-6). The winners established a big wall at the
net scoring with 9 blocks and recorded 8 serving aces.
USA Captain Carly Wopat was the only in double figures in the
balanced American attack charting 11 points. Haleigh Hampton
added 9 tallies while Jane Crosson and Kelly Reeves registered 8
apiece.
“I am very proud of my team who played hard all the time,” USA
Coach Robert Browning stated. “Obviously our teams are not at
the same level but you have to start from somewhere and they had
the courage to play hard and not giving up.”
“We expect an exciting match with Mexico tomorrow,” Browning
added. “Mexico is a very competitive team and we are mentally
and physically prepared for the match.”
